New! Lascaux Artist Metallics

To celebrate 50 years of making high-quality artist acrylic colours, Lascaux has produced a special range of Artist Metallics. These acrylic paints offer three new intense metallic colours,  Brilliant Silver, King's Gold and Sunshine Gold. They have a heavier body, similar to Lascaux's Artist range of colours, which enables you to employ heavy impasto painting techniques, or dilute them with water and Lascaux Acrylic Mediums to produce metallic washes or glazes. As with all Lascaux Acrylics, Artist Metallics have been formulated to achieve maximum pigmentation and are light-fast and age resistant. They can be used in conjunction with Lascaux Mediums and additives to give a broad range of effects. Available in 45ml tubes.

New Sketchbook sizes and Paper

AP Fitzpatrick's selection of sketchbooks and paper has expanded to include larger sketchbooks and some new rolls of economical Fabriano 'Accademia' paper.
In the sketchbooks, we now have larger 27.9cm x 35.6cm hardbound Canson 'One' sketchbooks (£10.10 + VAT), which are versatile and durable with 100gsm white paper.
The economical Hahnemule sketchbooks are now available in A2 size (£13.80 + VAT). These have a very smooth 190gsm paper and are glued along the top edge.
We are now also stocking the Fabriano Venezia Sketchbook in 10cm x 15cm (£6.20 + VAT) and 23cm x 30cm (£13.50 + VAT) sizes. The Venezia is hardbound with an attractive mosaic pattern on the cover, and has 200gsm off-white paper.
As well as sketchbooks, we have several types of Fabriano paper on larger rolls. The Fabriano 'Accademia' paper provides a good economical large paper roll, and comes in two weights, 120gsm (£14.60 + VAT) or 200gsm (£22.20 + VAT). These are 1.5m wide on a 10m roll, so a great way of doing large drawings without breaking the bank.
Finally, if you need a large roll of robust paper that will take heavy mark-making and repeated erasing, then Fabriano 4 'Liscia' could be for you (£34.60 + VAT). This is a sized 220gsm paper, much stronger than the 'Accademia', measuring 1.5m wide on a 10m roll.

Catrin Huber-As Above So Below at the Hatton Gallery

As Above so Below-Catrin Huber at the Hatton Gallery

01 March - 18 May 2013

Catrin Huber's As Above So Below  creates a temporary new habitat for Kurt Schwitters' Merzbarn wall.

Her site-specific installation, collage and wall paintings will collide to transform the exhibition space while setting up a visual dialogue with Schwitters' work. In alchemy, the ancient science of transformation, the phrase 'as a above so below' linked certain metals with particular planets; the micro and the macro. Materials, their lives, transformations and representations sit at the core of this exhibition.
